Side channels permit easy suctioning without interrupting endoscopy. A slit at the end of the airway allows advancement of the tip of the endoscope beyond the epiglottis, providing visualization of the larynx.
WILLIAMS AIRWAY INTUBATOR A modified Guedel Airway with an open or cut away distal end. The open distal end permits placement and movement of the fiberoptic scope while providing a bite block. The Williams Intubator can also be used as an oropharyngeal airway. To use as an intubating airway, insert the endotracheal tube through the airway. The tube will enter the trachea by correctly following the midline. If the tube has not kept the midline, it will impinge on the neck. To correct, rotate a few degrees and re-insert.
OVASSAPIAN AIRWAY A modified airway designed for use with a flexible fiberoptic laryngoscope. The airway may be removed without disconnecting or displacing the endotracheal tube.
