Designed to assist in awake fiberberoptic intubation and laryngoscopy.
The Rotigs is several devices in one; mouthpiece, bite block, and guidance tube. Rotigs facilitates transoral bronchoscopic intubation. The Rotigs is placed in the mouth after topical anesthesia is given. Typically, topical xylocaine is sprayed in the nose and oropharynx, and nebulized to the trachea. Xylocaine jelly and transtracheal injections are not necessary. The fiberoptic scope follows a direct mid-line to the larynx, and since the scope does not rest on the tongue the gagging response is eliminated. After successful bronchoscopy, the endotracheal tube is advanced to the trachea, the bronchoscope is removed from the ET tube and Rotigs is removed from the mouth.
TIME IS MONEY! Does not cause gagging, eliminates all but light topical anesthesia. Rotigs eliminates: epistaxis, pharyngeal and dental injuries Rotigs may make awake fiberoptic intubation faster, and easier.
IDEAL FOR THE DIFFICULT AIRWAY CART - The Rotigs is an intubator not an airway! It actually assists in placing the fiberoptic scope midline. Rotigs allows for voluntary tongue and head movements during endoscopy to maximize the view of the vocal cords.
